Let’s Play is a theatre workshop for children spread over 2 months to allow delving deeper into their creative selves. How theatre can be a tool to various ways of expression with a sense of play and some discipline. The facilitation will look into movements, rhythms, sounds, creative writing, drawings and performance making to bring alive uncharted territories of imagination.

Why? 

Theatre emerged from our primal need to tell stories. Theatre enables us to ask questions about ourselves and the places we inhabit. A theatre workshop can help children lose inhibitions, navigate their unbound energy to express freely and provide a creative outlet to their emotional, mental and physical being. Theatre also enables working together as a group and developing a sense of compassion and empathy. As much as theatre has the capacity to instil confidence and self-belief, it also gives the joy of being completely involved and focused in things that one does.

How?

  • once a week - Sunday

  • Duration 2 months

  • 1 session of 2 hours every week

  • Total 8 sessions.

  • The last session will include a small sharing by children for family and friends in the audience.

Who?

Our Theatre Collective is an independent collective creating original multi-lingual plays since 2009. Based out of Bangalore, our focus lies strongly on performance training for actors and theatre-makers. Our studio space in Koramangala, fondly called Our Theatre Studio, has also been hosting curated performances and showcases since 2018 and has recently become home to a variety of theatre-based events for young audiences as well.
