RUHANIYAT-SUFI is a Bangalore-based band that specializes in semi-classical raaga-based ghazals and Sufi music. We are not just a band but an ideology—an idea that unites aspirants from diverse cultures and genres, blending them with the timeless essence of classical music. Our performances resonate with the hearts of the youth, offering a unique musical experience that bridges the gap between tradition and contemporary tastes. With hundreds of performances across India and on international stages, our band members have honed their ability to energize and captivate audiences from start to finish. Our music is a journey that keeps the crowd engaged, entertained, and inspired.

About the Artists

Koyel Chatterjee's journey with music began as a toddler. She is a disciple of Pt. Samresh Choudhury, Pt. Ravi Shankar, and Semia Gharana, with mentorship from Ghulam Ali. Now a successful Indian Classical Singer, Koyel has performed worldwide and collaborated with global artists. With over 20 awards, she became a finalist in popular TV shows like "Sa Re Ga Ma Pa 2006 & 2007." She has had the honor of performing for notable Indian personalities, including President Pranab Mukherjee. Her focus on spirituality and nurturing the soul inspired her to start Ruhaniyat.

Rishabh Chauhan was Introduced to the music and the enchanting world of ghazals and semi-classical melodies from a very young age by his father. He grew up in the middle of great spiritual and cultural influences which made him embrace the genre of music associated with our classical roots and its relevance in the awakening of the human spirit. After his formal training in Indian classical vocals and having had the opportunity to accompany various renowned artists, he felt a void and embarked on a personal quest to delve deeper into a genre associated with music that resonated with inner peace and joy, making music not just a performance, but a way of life.

Thilak Ram is a versatile flautist and saxophonist with over 12 years of experience in the Indian music industry. His musical journey began under his first guru, M. Janardhan, and he later trained with renowned musicians such as Amith Nadig, Munirathanam, Sax Raja, and Karthik. Thilak's talent spans various genres, including Carnatic, Indo-western, classical, film hits, instrumentals, and folklore music. He has performed at prestigious events like Mysuru Dasara and Bengaluru Ganesha Utsav, receiving rave reviews from audiences and critics alike. Known for his proficiency with multiple instruments, including the saxophone and the iPad PS GeoShred, Thilak Ram's dedication and talent have firmly established him as a rising star in the music industry.

Sachin Shankar was introduced to music by his father and grandfather at age 5. He began Tabla lessons with Lt. Aacharya Jivan Kumar Bhaomik ji at 9 and studied under Shri. Arun Bhatt at Bhatkhande Music University, Lucknow, completing his Visharad. He is now pursuing a Master's at Delhi University and is guided by Pt. Suresh Talvakar ji and Master Yashwant Vaishnav. Sachin has performed solo across the country and accompanied many renowned artists. He enjoys blending Indian classical and Western music to create unique fusion pieces.
