Sonu Venugopal is a stand-up comic, digital creator, and improviser based out of Bengaluru. Fluent in Kannada, English, and Hindi, Sonu has created and performed standup comedy to sold-out live shows across Karnataka and to her wide online audience. Her relatable comedy content on social media stems from jokes tested on bored family, friends, and the rare pigeon that visited them. As “Baaju Mani Kaaku”, she represents the association of all mothers and “well-wishers” of your neighborhood and stands for their need to give advice that should then be diligently followed like a first rank student. A recent mom herself, she is trying to be funny to her toddler daughter but only fart sounds and fake moustaches seem to work so far. Your host for this show is Brikesh. He is an environmentalist born and raised in Bombay, he started moonlighting as a comic in 2017 after he made the dreadful decision to shift to Delhi.
He jokes mostly about politics and is the co-founder of the Malhar Laugh Club.
The opening act is by Sandeep Nanu, who is our resident bird photographer and an recent ethical snake rescuer. A believer in a perfect work-life balance (questionable considering very few at Malhar have seen him working), he can be found on the badminton court or entertaining kids with his card tricks when he is not at work. Along with Brikesh, he founded the local laugh club with 4 sold-out shows since its inception.
