Malhar Laugh Club (MLC) is a little over a year old. After 12 successful shows in 3 different formats (Stand-Up comedy, Open Mic and Impov), we bring you comedy about us. Yes, you heard that right. We are thrilled to announce a special comedy show that will have you rolling from the aisles all the way to the avenue, with humor centered around the experiences and quirky idiosyncrasies of life in our beloved local community.

From funny anecdotes about local rituals to humorous observations on the peculiarities of our neighbors, our local comics will entertain you with their wit, clever wordplay, and comedic timing. Prepare to experience an evening of laughter that is both relatable and scary even.

Brikesh Singh is an environmentalist born and raised in Bombay, he started moonlighting as a comic in 2017 after he made the dreadful decision to shift to Delhi. After performing at various venues, he’s partnered with Nanu at MLC to bring comedy to Malhar. Catch him get out of his comfort zone to talk about things he likes and things that make him squirm.

Mani Subramanian is our quintessential Chennai man, who took all of us by surprise with his immaculate wit and stage presence in every Open Mic we’ve had at Koota so far. His comedic timing is something that’s left our audience in splits every single time. We can’t wait to hear what Mani thinks of his life here at Malhar.

Sreedevi Ajayan took the audience to a complete laugh riot with her affable style of delivery. From her need to control things to her insecurities with how people message to how everything needs to be in the right place, she showed us that 4 minutes isn’t enough to tell her stories. Well, guess what? There’s no timer hanging above her head this time around. So yeah, we are unleashing another riot.

Sandeep Nanu is our resident bird photographer and a recent ethical snake rescuer. A believer in a perfect work-life balance (questionable considering very few at Malhar have seen him working), he can be found on the badminton court or entertaining kids with his card tricks when he is not at work. If you have seen him perform, you may have heard some of his favorite jokes about his life here. They are funny enough to be heard again. So he thinks.

As they say, laughter is the best medicine, and this show is sure to keep you in stitches while celebrating the place we call home. And hey, we almost forgot. Come dressed in your fancy outfit as we are recording this comedy show for the first time ever. The more you laugh, the more you might be featured in the video, you never know.

Come and encourage this set of our local comics about local life – The Joke’s on us.
