A Bharathnatyam Recital by Natya Taranga, Bangalore

Natya Taranga was established in the year 1992 by Vidwan Janardhana and Smt Varadambika Janardhana in Sagara,Shimogga. The institute has been conducting classes and organising dance and music festivals for the past 31 years.

Natya Taranga Bangalore chapter was established in 2014 by Vidushi Samudyatha under the guidance of Vidwan Janardhana G B. She further continued the study and obtained fellowships from Karnataka Sangeetha Nritya Academy and Ministry of Culture for her research .

She also obtained MFA from Sastra University, Tanjavur through distance mode. Her thirst for dance took her to Dr.Padma Subramanyam a legendary dancer, researcher to learn Natyashastra. Later she completed her PG Diploma in Manuscriptology and Paleography which gave a deeper insight about the textual sources for Indian art form in different scripts. She is a graded Doordashan artist . Her research papers have been presented and published in various conferences and journals. Currently she is pursuing her Ph D in dance from Mysore University under the guidance of Dr. K Kumar.

Vid.Samudyatha’s passion in dance was developed from a very young age, looking at her father pursuing the art form. She got her training in Bharatanatyam from her father Vidwan G B Janardhan and completed her Vidwat in Bharatanatyam. This passion made her to complete her M.A in
Performing Arts from Bangalore University securing gold medal. Currently Natya Taranga has five branches running in Bangalore with hundreds of students acquiring knowledge and skills in Bharatanatyam. Natya Taranga believes in imparting dance education which helps in holistic development of a student’s personality.

Smt.Deepa is a family physician working as a Consultant at the Peenya Community Health center by Azim Premji Foundation and has a practice based out of Good Earth Malhar. A mother of two, she has had an extremely brief foray as a young girl in Bharatanatyam, but has always nurtured a passion for the art and restarted her journey 4 years ago. Her daughter, Meenakshi is a student of Vid. Samudhyatha Bhat.

Smt.Archana Krishnan started her journey in Bharatanatyam early on, and spent a decade learning the artform in Bangalore. Passionate about Carnatic classical music, she is a Vidwath certificated “Saraswathi Veena” artiste in the Mysore Bani. A hands-on mother of a teenager, a seasoned and successful IT professional, Archana works as Director, Product Management at ServiceMax, Bangalore.

Smt.Aaria Madhup was initiated into Bharatanatyam in Kalakshetra Bani at a very early age . She was also fortunate to learn Kathak from the Lucknow Gharana. As a seasoned Pranic Healer, she brings holistic approach to well being. She is involved in the study of Vedic scriptures through various
mediums. Her culinary skills extend beyond her kitchen, curated on her YouTube channel.
