Saturday 20th November - Sunday 28th November 11 am - 6pm Tues through Friday and 11 am - 8 pm Saturday and Sunday This is a free entry Bengaluru through fabrics: How stories and culture are woven together Urban Fabric is curated by Suresh Jayaram and his team.  This community project archives the diversity and the cosmopolitanism of Bangalore will document the city’s culture through the fabric. Tracing shifts from handlooms to power looms, and from hand-tailoring to garment factories, the project will bring together works of artists who have focused on the labor and the materials of fabric, craft skills, the micro-narratives, and textile in the city. His art practice covers a range of subjects including painting, urban mapping and archiving while hosting at the core an interest in arts education. Suresh was a professor of art history and dean at Karnataka Chitrakala Parishad, between 1993 and 2007, retiring to manage 1Shanthiroad full time. 1Shanthiroad itself emerged as a critique of the systems and structures of large institutions of learning and teaching.
