KODAGU - Celebrating 10 Years as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Nestled in the heart of the Western Ghats, Kodagu is a land where the rhythm of life is set by the flow of rivers. From the sacred Kaveri to the pristine forests, this region is a haven for biodiversity. In 2012, UNESCO declared multiple locations in the Western Ghats as World Heritage Sites. Five of these locations are in Kodagu. This video produced by Felis Creations in collaboration with the Karnataka Forest Department, explores the magic of this special place, where every bend of the river reveals new habitats and fascinating stories.
Let us do everything we can to protect this natural heritage and keep the rhythm flowing!

Talk by Gopa
The Asian Small Clawed Otter, the smallest otter of the 13 species found world over, is a secretive inhabitant of streams in the Western Ghats, elusive and largely nocturnal. Otters are excellent indicator species and their presence, or the lack of it, tells us stories of just what is happening to their habitat. In every which way, their future and ours are conjoined. In this short talk, we will experience the beautiful streams of the Brahmagiris in Coorg, understand the challenges they face and just how they - and the Small Clawed Otters that live in them - can be protected for the future.
Gopakumar Bio
Gopakumar is a management post-graduate from the Indian Institute of Management, Bangalore and worked as an investment professional in two venture funds over a eleven year period before Wisdom dawned. Since 2002, he has been facilitating workshops on Influencing Stakeholders and Negotiation and is forever surprised to find that he’s still in business.
He is the founder of River Otter Conservancy that works to conserve otters and their habitat outside protected areas, using principles of social marketing. He is the author of two books of short stories and blogs regularly in the faint hope that someone somewhere would read his work.
This talk will be followed by a discussion between Gopakumar and B.N.N. Murthy.
