A dance theatre production

'Spotlight’ is a dance theatre production based on the famous poem ‘The Road not taken’ by Robert Frost. The production is an independent interpretation of the poem and, as the name suggests, Spotlight focuses on the performer who is in the midst of a performance. The performance progresses by depicting the poem and the performer reflects her emotions and internal conflicts through the performance, while the poem ‘The Road not taken’ becomes the base and subtext of her movements and expressions.

About the Artists

Sreedeep - Theatre artist, actor, acting trainer & scriptwriter. Working with Lokadharmi theatre group, Kochi and have acted in plays including Karnabharam, Vishwavikhyathamaya mooku etc. Conducted corporate theatre training for TASL, Ramco and acting training workshops for students. Directed theatre performances ‘Room’ , The wall (skit) and Spotlight(dance theatre). Currently working on an upcoming Malayalam film as script writer.

Theertha EV is a Bharatanatyam practitioner and performer who has been training since the age of 5. She is an alumna of Kalakshetra, Chennai, and is currently training under the guidance of KP Rakesh. Performed at major festivals including Ananya Festival in Bangalore, Soorya Festival in Trivandrum, and Natyarangam Festival at Narada Gana Sabha, Chennai. She is also an empanelled artist with Spicmacay and a graded artist with Doordarshan.  Productions- Nayika & Spotlight
