ಧೀಮಹಿ ಬೆಂಗಳೂರು ಅರ್ಪಿಸುವ

ಅಮ್ಮಾ ಮತ್ತು ಸುಹೇಲ್

ಭಿನ್ನ–ಸಾಮಾನ್ಯ (queer) ಪ್ರೇಮಕ್ಕೆ ಒಂದು ಹೃದಯಪೂರ್ವಕ ಸಮರ್ಪಣೆ. ಕಾರಣಾಂತರಗಳಿಂದ, ಪೂರ್ವಕಲ್ಪಿತ ಭಾವನೆಗಳಿಂದ ದೂರ ಸರಿದಿರುವ ಮನಸ್ಸುಗಳನ್ನು ಮತ್ತೆ ಹತ್ತಿರ ತರುವಲ್ಲಿ ಅಂತಃಕರಣ, ಸಕಾರಾತ್ಮಕ ಸಂಭಾಷಣೆ ಮತ್ತು ಸ್ಪಂದನೆಗಳ ಶಕ್ತಿ ಮತ್ತು ಉಪಯುಕ್ತತೆ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಈ ನಾಟಕ ಚಿಂತಿಸುತ್ತದೆ. ಕಥಾ ಹಂದರವು ಮನುಷ್ಯ ಸಹಜವಾದ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಭಾವನೆಗಳನ್ನೂ, ಆಸೆ- ನಿರಾಶೆಗಳನ್ನೂ ಮುಕ್ತವಾಗಿ, ಹಾಸ್ಯದ ಮೂಲಕ ತೆರೆದಿಡುತ್ತದೆ.  ಪಾತ್ರಗಳು ಒಂದನ್ನೊಂದು ಪ್ರಶ್ನಿಸುತ್ತಾ, ತನ್ಮೂಲಕ ಅರ್ಥಮಾಡಿಕೊಳ್ಳುತ್ತಾ ಹೋದಾಗ, ಸಹಾನುಭೂತಿ ಮತ್ತು ಗೌರವದ ಬಾಗಿಲುಗಳು ತೆರೆದುಕೊಳ್ಳುತ್ತದೆ. ಲೈಂಗಿಕ ಅಸ್ಮಿತೆ, ಜಾತಿ, ಮತಗಳನ್ನೂ ಮೀರಿ. ಪ್ರೀತಿ-ನೋವು ಮುಂತಾದ ಮುಗ್ಧ ಮನುಷ್ಯ ಭಾವನೆಗಳು ಎಲ್ಲರಲ್ಲೂ ಒಂದಾಗೇ ಮಿಡಿಯುತ್ತಿರುತ್ತದೆ ಎನ್ನುವುದೇ ಈ ನಾಟಕದ ಮೂಲ ಸೆಲೆಯಾಗಿರುತ್ತದೆ. ಒಂದು ಅಂತರ್ಮತೀಯ ಭಿನ್ನ-ಸಾಮಾಮನ್ಯ ಜೋಡಿ ಮತ್ತು ಅವರಲ್ಲೊಬ್ಬರ ಅಮ್ಮ ಭೇಟಿಯಾದಾಗ ಉಂಟಾಗುವ ಸನ್ನಿವೇಷ, ತದನಂತರ ಅವರ ಸಂಬಂಧದ ಯಾನದಲ್ಲಿ ಅವರೆಲ್ಗರೂ ತಮ್ಮ ಭೂತಕಾಲದ ಹೊರೆಗಳನ್ನೆಲ್ಲಾ ಕಳಚಿಡುತ್ತಾ, ಅಂತಃಕರಣಗಳನ್ನು ತೆರೆದುಕೊಳ್ಳುತ್ತಾ ಪ್ರೀತಿ, ಒಪ್ಪಿಗೆ ಮತ್ತು ದ್ವೇಶದ ಒಳ ಹಂದರಗಳನ್ನು ದಾಟುತ್ತಾ, ತಮ್ಮನ್ನು ತಾವೇ ಹೊಸ ಬೆಳಕಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಕಂಡುಕೊಳ್ಳುತ್ತಾ ಹೋಗುತ್ತಾರೆ.

Is an ode to queer love. It is a meditation on the values of Empathy and dialogue as powerful agents to bring estranged minds together. The narrative traverses through moments of Passion, anger, sadness and love in its raw human element. The characters attempt to interrogate, understand and acknowledge each other and in this process unveil the universality of all emotions as being the same irrespective of gender and orientation. The play tries to deconstruct and lay open the psychological and emotional baggage of the characters who are but symbols of the divided humanity that we are today. An interfaith gay couple and A mother of one of the characters, venture on a journey of understanding one another rather light heartedly through uncomfortable conversations, only to explore depths which they never knew or imagined would be possible to unearth.
