In a mesmerizing display of artistry and emotion, “Spotlight” illuminated the stage with its poignant interpretation of Robert Frost’s timeless poem, “The Road Not Taken.” Produced by Kerala Arts and Crafts Village, Kovalam, this dance theatre production captivated audiences with its unique blend of movement, music, and storytelling.
Under the visionary direction of Sreedeep PS, “Spotlight” brought the poem to life, focusing on the inner journey of the performer as she navigated through the choices and challenges depicted in Frost’s words. Choreographed and performed by the talented Theertha EV, the production seamlessly integrated Bharatanatyam with contemporary dance, creating a mesmerizing visual narrative.
Bhagyalakshmi Guruvayoor’s evocative music, accompanied by the soulful vocals of Udupi S Srinath and the enchanting melodies of Adarsh Ajayakumar on violin and Adithya Chandra Bose on Mridangam, added depth and resonance to the performance.
The lighting design by Johnson CS enhanced the mood and atmosphere, guiding the audience through the emotional landscape of the piece.
